I recently perfomred a fresh UBUNTU server install after running UBUNTU 12 for many years with the exact same settings as above without any issues.ĭoes anyone use any tools for encrypting sensitive data that gets stored in onedrive?I have a tech \ privacy savvy CEO who has used boxcryptor for years to add an extra layer of protection for sensitive files he stores in onedrive, but Dropbox has purchas. When i change all permissions to allow root access, including the smb.conf file, and change folder configuration to 777 i can access it through Windows 10? I require this share folder to be secure. When attempting to access from Windows 10, the user cyberblitz won't authenticate.
I have created/added/enabled a SAMBA user: Sudo chown -R cyberblitz:cyberblitz /mnt/CyberblitzShare/ I have set permissions to the share folder thus: I have configured the smb.conf file thus: I am attempting to configure share drives on my ubuntu server, accessed from my Windows 10 machine. The UBUNTU server is also set up as an DNS server.
I am using UBUNTU server 18.04 LTS with SAMBA version 4.7.6.
